Football Under Cover: Football through the veil

"Football Under Cover" is a chronicle full of feminine strength, flavored football and dreams of equality. The women's team members Kreuzberg, Berlin-Germany with Ayat Najafi (of Iranian origin), are given the task of making possible a match between his team and the Iranian national squad, whose members are allowed to attend training but are forbidden to play. The road ahead is long and at first impossible, after a year full of loopholes and bureaucratic potholes in 2006 to end the Iranian government gives green light for the meeting is conducted. Friendship and cultural exchange form the background of the film, joining the German and Iranian women as best they can join the human being, with football.

The game serves as an excuse to introduce the viewer into Iranian society full of complicated rules, rules that the team Kreuzberg is to be accepted by an Islamic culture, under Western eyes, is often incomprehensible. The German team members are forced to wear the veil while walking through the streets of Tehran, likewise, are prohibited from drinking alcohol, smoking and having a meeting with the Iranian players before the match. They also have to reform their uniforms, as they are not allowed to play with shorts and t-shirt, and of course, must wear a veil for the entire match. When the end comes the awaited day, under a propaganda minimal, no man is allowed to enter the stadium. Ironically, Ayat Najafi and President of the German team left without seeing the game. The fans watched all women are considered immoral behavior.

's documentary Ayat Najafi and David Assmann is revolutionary and risky, the issue is dynamic and moves under a strong musical background, which helps to continue the action until the end of the film. Shoots are achieved could be considered a crime in the Muslim country, as one of the Iranian team players dressed as a man to play football freely in Tehran's parks or open statements against the laws imposed women and freedoms enjoyed by men against them. The weakness is that the film does not stop to analyze in depth this issue, the understanding must also be involved in their religion, history and culture, aspects that managers fail to play.

Finally, I argue that when one leaves the theater, he feels he has been involved in a big party, football, women's beauty and friendship, with the full reflection is still much to be done to achieve a fair world where women have the same rights as men.
